Hi & Welcome to the official Robert Madrid Photography Blog - Bobby's World

I'm Robert Madrid and I'm a wedding photographer in West Palm Beach, Florida, who also does destination weddings / portraits around the world.

This blog is a little more informal than my main site and will follow my both career and personal life, featuring images from the latest weddings, to photos and stories from my day-to-day existence. I can only hope this will give you an insight into who I am & what I'm about.

Thanks for checking out my website. Please leave a comment -I'd love to hear from you! :)

oh boy

I will say, I was abit ummmmm….confused on whether I should post this video, but it’s really funny, for photographers. So, if you’re a photographer, I know you will enjoy this!

some more

It’s been awhile since I played mini-golf with my friends. Another cool thing was, I was able to get some footage with the new Canon 5D Mark II. I am very familiar with the inner-layout of options, its very similar to the Canon 50D, but learning the video controls, or should I say understanding the difference between Movie mode display and Exposure mode display is confusing still :/ I’m still learning on converting the FCPexpress files into nice HD footage or nice Quicktime files. Apparently, there has been some minor clipping with the Final Cut Pro studio version, however using the express HD version has been smooth so far (knocking on wood).
Tomorrow I’ll be taking some footage of the worship service at the Journey church, I really want to see how the body will produce in low lighting, mixed with spot lights and more. I know I’m no professional videographer, but I’m trying to understand video and the post-production of it and hopefully soon, make soon short videos for myself and clients.

first test

Out of all the places to get a camera, I ended up getting the Canon 5D Mark II in Best Buy. Thank you Carlos for the coupon. Here is the first test I did with the camera, I edited the movie in Final Cut Express HD. More to come of course!!!

finally, the blog will be going through some updating in the next couple of weeks.  i will be posting some of the photos from the Orange Bowl game very very very soon…

kaela & Gene esession

Today I did an engagement session with Kaela & Gene.  I met this couple from Gene’s brothers wedding I did about 2 years ago in Georiga.  We took some photos around the West Palm Beach & Palm Beach area.  Here are some of the photos from there engagement…

Leny

Today, I took some photos of Leny.  I met Leny about a year ago, (actually around christmas) through some friends.  We got reconnected a couple of months ago, once again through some friends, and finally…we both had time to do a quick photo session!  Here are some of the photos…enjoy!

Canon 5d Mark II

No……I don’t own one at the moment, but Curt Apanovic, Robert Evans, and Carlos Baez did an amazing short video using the video feature on the Canon 5d Mark II.  Here is the video, enjoy!  I’m so stoked to eventually get one…probably in March :(

Anyways, enjoy.

Westgate Tabernacle

Tonight, the youth - from the Journey Church [Origins-youth] came out to Westgate Tabernacle and spent time with the children.  The purpose of this trip was simple, just to spend time with the children and leave an physical and visual impact to the family & community, knowing that there is a God out there that does care and loves them more than anyone. Times are extremely tough this year, and it’s such a blessing to see young teenagers take there time off from school and focus there time in helping others, I will simply say…any help will help.

On another note, I love the Canon 50D!!!  It was basically dark by 6 and the new ISO feature help me out big time :)

Tetrault family session

Recently I did part of a family session, and I say “part” because Florida has unpredictable weather, but the family session was with the Tetrault family.  They have such a cute little 12 week old girl :)  As I said before, because of weather issues, we only had 20 mins or so to shoot…and of course the weather started to clear up but the baby started to get really hungry :(  More photos will be taken this Saturday!  But here are some photos, enjoy.

rapunzels…

busy week at rapunzels, we did a lot of outdoor shooting…these are my favorites :)
